Frequently Asked Questions

Are auctions reserved to professional buyers?

No. We only conduct public auctions, that is to say auctions which are opened to the public including both individual and professional buyers.

Bidders neither have to be car experts or professionals to make a good bargain. The only thing to do is to carefully scrutinize the vehicles you are willing to buy.

The day before and the morning of the sale, cars are available for inspection. During the inspection time, buyers can see the vehicles and appraise both their body and mechanical conditions.

Our commercial team is available to answer your questions and advise you.

Cars can be opened in order to allow buyers to make their due diligences.

What about the sourcing? Do vehicles come from individuals, bankruptcy procedures?

Most of our sourcing comes from fleet and leasing companies, car manufacturers, banks, car retailers. Only a small minority of the vehicles are sourced from forced sales, bankruptcy procedures or individuals.

We act on behalf of these companies as re-marketers offering a privileged canal for selling vehicles within a short time frame.

What about guarantees?

All vehicles are offered by the Auctioneer as agent for the Seller. The Auctioneer is not a party to the sale agreement, which is solely binding on the seller and the successful bidder.

Thereby, vehicles are sold "as is" and no claim may be made after the sale is complete.

However, we do consider that our role is to provide you with detailed information so that you are able to appraise the vehicles. All vehicles are sold with a vehicle inspection report plus a specification fact sheet. If relevant, all other documents in our possession are also made available.

In addition, numerous vehicles are still under car manufacturer guarantee and this guarantee runs until its expiry under car manufacturer conditions. It is also possible to subscribe to a guarantee service on a voluntary basis.

Our procedures are ISO-certified.

Can the vehicles be road-tested?

Vehicles can not be road-tested. However, it is possible to open the vehicles and check the engine. All vehicles are sold with a vehicle inspection certificate.

Can the vehicles be bought before the auction?

No. All vehicles are auctioned and are sold to the highest and last bidder. No vehicles are sold before the auction.

Does one have to attend the auction to bid?

No. Persons who can not attend the auction can bid through an "absentee bid".

An absentee bid is a written instruction from the buyer directing the auctioneer to bid on your behalf on one or more vehicles to a maximum amount specified for each vehicle.

The auctioneer will execute the absentee bid at the lowest price possible. This service is free of charge.

Example: your absentee bid is up to 10000 euros. If you are the last and highest bidder at 9500 euros, you will purchase the vehicle at 9500 euros.

Are there good bargains?

During an auction, the price is set by the meeting of offer and demand.

The bargain you make is the guarantee you have to buy a vehicle at its market value.

What does VAT included means?

Some vehicles are sold with VAT included in the auction price. This is mentioned on the identification sheets with VAT: Yes.

On certain conditions, this means that VAT can be refunded by :

  • professionals for utilitaries
  • professional buyers from a country member of the European Community
  • buyers from countries non members of the European Community
